Jennifer Garner, 51,  narrated that her co- star Colin Farrell in the action movie, Daredevil aggressively kissed her till her lips swelled next day. What triggered the people/ socialists is her statement which said

“The next morning I woke up…and I walk out into the living room when my [now ex] husband Scott [Foley] sitting there [in shock],” Garner explained before adding, “and Colin said my lip looked like one of those African women with a plate in their mouths.”

Garner followed the comment by acting as though she still had a swollen lip, rolled her eyes back and made “monkey noises,” according to one Twitter user as a way of imitating the women.

A common racial stunt used when black people are called and/or equalized to monkeys.

The lip plate one of the most artful jaw dropping African fashion of all times is the lip plate jewelry accessory also known as the lip ring or lip disc. The lip plate jewelry has been made popular by East African women and girls of the Suri and Mursi tribes collectively known as the Surma ethnic group.

The lip plate is fashioned not just for beauty but also for symbolism and other important purposes. It is fashioned for events such as marriage ceremonies, milking cows, welcoming important visitors and other important events. It is also fashioned to boost self-esteem, for social status and hierarchy, and also as a fashion exhibition; the bigger the plate the more you are fashion oriented and/or highly regarded in the social hierarchy

However, aside from social media black lash, Garner has not faced any consequences for hate speech or racism for this commented just like any many other incidences in our society today. In addition, Culture appropriation and insolence continues to prevail in our society.
