A whole new wave of sand and dust storms has been a terror of the environment.

Sand storms are described as occurrences of lifting of large amounts of sand and dust by strong winds. Sand and dust are lifted from bare, dry soils into the atmosphere.

Sand and dust storms have been prevalent over the years mainly due to the crisis climate but initially due to the destruction of fauna such as deforestation.

The more the prevalence, the more sand and dust storms leave devastating experiences and impacts on peoples’ lives and the environment.

The restoration of the environment from degradation particularly topsoil, an increase of vegetation and flora in general could mitigate and ultimately curb the occurrences and impacts of sand and dust storms.

Sand and dust storms are still further impactful on the physical and socio-economic environment.

The UNEP reports that the most ferocious sand and dust storms are like tsunamia affecting over 300 million people around the sub- Saharan Africa to northern china and Australia. As rolling clouds engulf everything in their path, the tempests turn day into night and wreak havoc on humans and nature.

The restoration of the environment from degradation particularly topsoil, an increase of vegetation and flora in general could mitigate and ultimately curb the occurrences and impacts of sand and dust storms.
